Deserving Children Africa has grown over the past year and is now helping more children, but there is still much more to be done. Of the 1,500 pupils at Nakeel Primary School at least 500 do not get a daily meal. We want to find sponsors for all 500, but in the meantime we are seeking to raise enough to feed as many of them as we can.

To feed more children their desperately needed meal-a-day – Deserving Children Africa will be holding a book sale in Stoke Poges in May 2013.

    • Day: Sunday 12th May 2013
    • Time:  2 – 5 pm
    • Place: St Giles’ Church, Church Lane, Stoke Poges.

During the afternoon, the beautiful church of St Giles’ will be open to visitors and cream teas will be served by church members.  If the weather allows, there will also be a bouncy castle for the less bookish and more energetic.

To make this event a real success and to help as many children as possible, we are asking for donations of books from the whole community.

Any contributions for the sale can be left at the Coffee Shop at St Andrew’s Church Centre in Rogers’ Lane. The Coffee Shop is open Tuesday to Friday 10am to 12:30pm and 2:30pm to 5pm
and on Saturday mornings from 9am to 11am. If you have books that you cannot deliver to the Coffee Shop, please email the charity admin@deservingchildrenafrica.org and we’ll see what we can do to help.

Unfortunately we will not be able to continue collecting books after the sale. After the sale, any remaining children’s books will be given to School Aid.
